This Privacy Policy explains how Mentu Tasks & Notes (“Mentu”, “the App”) by Jabez Software, LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile application.
If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the App.
1) Information We Collect
- Account information: verified email address and optional display name.
- Content you add: tasks and notes are stored locally on your device. Images you attach (e.g., profile photo, note images) may be uploaded to our secure storage to be used within the App.
- Preferences: language, reminder settings, Do Not Disturb windows, and selected workdays.
- Subscription status: information necessary to determine Premium access (e.g., receipt identifiers, entitlement active/expiration time).
- Device data (limited): OS/platform, app version, and notification token (only if you enable notifications). We do not collect advertising identifiers for tracking.
- Support/diagnostics: minimal logs or error reports to troubleshoot issues (no sensitive content).
2) How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain the App’s core features (tasks, notes, reminders, language/themes).
- Authenticate users, secure sessions, and prevent fraud/abuse.
- Enable Premium features and verify subscription status (including free trials and renewals).
- Send notifications you enabled (e.g., reminders), respecting your Do Not Disturb and workday preferences.
- Provide customer support and improve reliability.
3) Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract: to provide the App and subscription features you requested.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, and improve the App.
- Consent: when you grant device permissions (e.g., notifications, photo library).
- Legal obligations: to comply with tax and accounting rules regarding purchases.
4) Data Storage and Retention
- Tasks and notes are saved on your device’s local database. If you uninstall the App, this local content is removed with the App unless you backed it up.
- Images and subscription records stored on our servers are retained while your account remains active and as needed for legal/accounting purposes. When you delete your account, we delete associated server data within a reasonable time unless we must keep some records by law.
5) Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with vendors only to operate the App:
- Apple App Store / Google Play: in‑app purchases, subscription billing, receipt validation.
- Firebase (Google): authentication; secure storage for images and subscription/entitlement records; Cloud Functions for receipt verification and notifications. Privacy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Expo Notifications/Services: device tokens and delivery of notifications. Privacy: expo.dev/privacy
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
6) International Transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross‑border transfers.
7) Your Choices and Rights
- Access, correction, deletion: contact us to exercise your rights. In the App you can also use Settings > Delete Account to permanently remove your server‑side data and account.
- Notifications: toggle notifications in device settings and within the App’s settings.
- Language and preferences: change anytime in Settings.

- EEA/UK/California residents may have additional rights; contact us for requests.
8) Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age required by local law (e.g., under 13). If we learn we collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
9) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10) Cookies and Tracking
The App does not use advertising trackers. Limited, essential identifiers may be used for authentication, push notifications, and receipt verification.
11) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the current version here and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
